Integration of Renewable Energies to Power Systems

This research line investigates the impacts on IBR-based renewable energies (IBR-RES) into the electric power transmission systems, studying stability and reliability performances of the system. It includes the study of the application of high-voltage technologies for the integration of IBR-RES to the system, such as HVDC grids, FACTS, and synchronous condensers, among others. Also, the research line includes the study, development, and application of probabilistic methodologies of analysis and control of power systems using converter stations (IBR and HVDC).
